Steward's Report
Sundae Smasher and Hay Angel were quick to begin. Watch My Path and Denzel were slow to begin. High Aim and Denzel collided on the first turn. Beljay Fantasy and Hay Angel collided on the first turn checking Hay Angel. Yazz was checked off Tekki Twist on the first turn. Watch My Path and Hay Angel collided approaching the home turn. Denzel galloped on Beljay Fantasy approaching the home turn checking Beljay Fantasy which lost ground severely checking Hay Angel, Beljay Fantasy subsequently pulled up. High Aim eased approaching the home turn checking Tekki Twist. Yazz and Tekki Twist collided approaching the home turn. Yazz was checked off Tekki Twist on the home turn.
Beljay Fantasy was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 12 it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left and right monkey muscle, right calf and left sesamoid, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the veterinary surgeon Mr. Steven Mitchell regarding the injuries sustained by Beljay Fantasy. It was Mr Mitchell's belief that the injuries were not sufficient to cause the greyhound to pull up.
Stewards spoke to Mr, Barry Scott the handler of the greyhound Beljay Fantasy. Stewards deemed the performace of Beljay Fantasy unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that Beljay Fantasy must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Frank Ryan the trainer of the greyhound High Aim. High Aim was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 12 it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged High Aim with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury and directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
