Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Whistling Dove.
Whistling Dove was quick to begin. Free Falling and MIghty Hannibal were slow to begin.
Whistling Dove was galloped on by Aeroplane Erin on the first turn and lost ground, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury and right hamstring injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Aeroplane Erin underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have shin soreness to the left and right foreleg. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Glenn Rounds regarding the racing manners of Aeroplane Erin in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Rounds, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
There was no head-on vision available in the back straight for this event.
