Steward's Report
Guelph was quick to begin. Just Vic and Stout Monelli were slow to begin.
Guelph faltered soon after the start, trailed the field, and pulled up entering the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler, Mr James Ennis after he entered the track in an attempt to catch the unsecured Guelph, which pulled up entering the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Ennis and going through provisions of the GRV Track Rules and Exclusion Zone Procedures, Mr. Ennis was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR165(a).
A post–race sample was taken from Kelsey Bale – the winner of the event.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track and deemed it satisfactory for racing.
