Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Idema Bale.
Idema Bale underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to frequency of racing and was passed fit to start.
In accordance with GAR 156(w), Mr. Michael Wallworth was reminded of his responsibilities regarding the non–compliance with the GRV Dress Code.
Scarlett Express was quick to begin. Regal Raj was slow to begin.
Regal Raj turned its head inwards entering the back straight and visibly eased turning out of the back straight. Regal Raj underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triceps muscle injury and a left chest injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Sheldon Hamilton regarding Regal Raj’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Regal Raj was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Hamilton pled guilty to the charge and Regal Raj must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Scarlett Express - the winner of the event.
