Rainbow's Gold was quick to begin. Dr. Ripley was slow to begin.
Feel Like Flying visibly eased approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hamstring injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Brett Mackie regarding Feel Like Flying’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Feel Like Flying was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Mackie pled guilty to the charge, Feel Like Flying was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
