Steward's Report
Natteo Bale - Late scratching at 11:48am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28-day stand-down period was imposed. Due to the circumstances surrounding the non–presentation, trainer Mr Correy Grenfell was fined $250. Stewards directed Mr. Grenfell to present Natteo Bale to the Geelong Greyhound Racing Meeting on 2 March 2023 for a veterinary examination, pursuant to GAR 76(3).
Slingshot Snoop raced ungenerously entering the back straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. Brianna Robertson-Leech regarding the racing manners of Slingshot Snoop. After hearing submissions from Ms. Robertston-Leech, viewing the available race footage, and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
Stewards held the All Clear after a loud noise from a passing train became audible during the running of the event. After reviewing all available video footage and acting on their observations, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that the incident had no effect on the outcome of the race. The All Clear was given on 1-5-7-4.
