Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was taken from Be A Character.
Be A Character was quick to begin. Mega Banjo and Tricky Kelvin were slow to begin. Donald Lane was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Fine Wee Lass visibly eased turning off the back straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following event 5. Fine Wee Lass was found to have a right sesamoid injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Debra Cumes regarding Fine Wee Lass’ racing manners turning off the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Fine Wee Lass was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Cumes pled guilty to the charge, Fine Wee Lass was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Into The Coffee underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Gary McMillan regarding the racing manners of Into The Coffee approaching the winning post. After hearing submissions from Mr. McMillan, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.
