A pre-race sample was taken from In Blue Jeans.
Sweet Lola was slow to begin.
Buddy's Mate shifted out on the first turn and collided with Property Mogul on the first turn and was severely checked underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg spike wound and left back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Property Mogul collided with Buddy's mate on the first turn, severely checked and subsequently fell, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Sweet Lola collided with Property Mogul on the first turn, severely checked and subsequently fell, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg carpal fracture injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
There was no head-on vision available in the back straight for this event.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track on the first turn and deemed it satisfactory for racing.
