Steward's Report
Zara's Princess and Loxton Bale were quick to begin.
Zara's Princess was severely checked turning out of the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right long head of triceps muscle and both sartorius muscles. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Spring Bolt was severely checked turning out of the home straight and subsequently failed to finish the event, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured right humerus. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Blue Tick Maya was severely checked and fell turning out of the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the right wrist and a right pectoral muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Loxton Bale was marred by Sin City Angel in the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Sin City Angel marred Loxton Bale in the home straight. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Dale Chapman regarding Sin City Angel's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Sin City Angel was charged with marring. Mr. Chapman pleaded guilty to the charge and Sin City Angel was suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Projector - the winner of the event.
