Steward's Report
General Meeting Comments:
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 22.4 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.5 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Hotspot Hero was quick to begin. Bakali Migaloo, Master Eduardo and Little Zambora were slow to begin.
Master Eduardo (turned its head outwards in the home straight), underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Kennel representative Mr. Darren Fisher declined the option to have the greyhound re-examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. Fisher regarding Master Eduardo’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Master Eduardo was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Fisher pled guilty to the charge and Master Eduardo was suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Bakali Migaloo (faltered and lost ground entering the first turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Harvard Scholar - the winner of the event.
