Steward's Report

Fighting Boxer – Late scratching at 6.12pm (kennelling) under GAR 92(4) on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian after being found to be infested with parasites. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance stating the condition no longer exists before any future nominations will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Wobbly Boots.

Deep Fever, City Nights and Wobbly Boots were slow to begin.

Anchor Rope (faltered on the turn into the back straight and tailed off) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

City Nights (failed to pursue the lure with due commitment entering the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr D. Kee regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, City Nights was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Kee pleaded not guilty to the charge, City Nights was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

The turn into the back straight was inspected post-race and deemed suitable for racing.
