Trainer Greg Johnson was fined $50, pursuant to GAR 88, for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the Magic Eyeliner.

Leo Bravado fell entering the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal and tarsal sprains. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Dark Night collided with the running rail, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. 

Parumba Special fell entering the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury.

Majestic Jay, Hey Scooby and Oldrik Bale were quick to begin.

Rebel May Road collided with Aragog on the first turn, was severely checked, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. Gail Saunders about the greyhound's actions through the first turn. After considering Ms. Saunders' comments and the post-race veterinary examination, Stewards took no further action. 

Aragog collided with Rebel May Road on the first turn, was severely checked, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abraded paw pad on the left hind. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke with Mr. Malcolm Carr, trainer of Majestic Jay, concerning his expectations of the greyhound's performance in the event. Mr. Carr advised Stewards that he was confident of a strong showing in the event given the favourable box draw and that he had supported the greyhound in the event. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Nagambie Bale. 

Nagambie Bale and Sugar Violet were quick to begin. Millie Bale stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin.

Stealth fell entering the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Sher Zany was quick to begin. Rufus Scrimgeour, Kai Bale and Xenium Bale were slow to begin. 

Kai Bale underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left carpal sprain. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Correy Grenfell regarding Kai Bale's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Kai Bale was charged with marring. Mr. Grenfell pled not guilty to the charge, Kai Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Extreme Jewel and Usman Bale were slow to begin. 

Big Opal Rocks raced ungenerously on the turn out of the home straight, lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left carpal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel represenative Mr. Mario Briganti about the greyhound's performance in the event, after considering Mr. Briganti's comments and the post-race veterinary examination, Stewards took no further action. 

A post-race sample was taken from First Picked - winner of the event. 

Whizbang Betty faltered on the turn out of the back straight, did not complete the course, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed. Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track and deemed it suitable for racing.

Trenzalore turned its head outwards on the home turn and again in the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left sartorius muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Darren Fisher regarding Trenzalore's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Trenzalore was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Fisher pled guilty to the charge, Trenzalore must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Keep It Blue was quick to begin. Rapaki Rocks was slow to begin. 

Weblec Flare fell on the first turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left radial ulna compound fracture. Weblec Flare was humanely euthanised. 

Rapaki Rocks underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Mario Briganti regarding Rapaki Rocks' racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Rapaki Rocks was charged with marring. Mr. Briganti pled guilty to the charge, Rapaki Rocks was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Baby Jaycee and Francis Benali were slow to begin. 

Lovaz Bale was quick to begin. 

Earthworm Jim underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Gino Micallef regarding the racing manners of Earthworm Jim rounding the home turn. After hearing submissions from Mr. Micallef and viewing the available race footage, Stewards were of the opinion that Earthworm Jim checked out across Alfie Alligator's heels and in doing so collided with Kanji Victory and Cashton Bale. Stewards were not comfortably satisfied that there was deliberate intention from Earthworm Jim to make head or muzzle contact with Cashton Bale and took no further action.  

Peacock was quick to begin. Fabroni Bale was slow to begin.
