Belair Bale– The frequency of racing of was discussed with Ms Tammy Kennedy-Harris, the comments were noted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Behind Greywalls.
The start of this event was delayed by approximately 8 minutes due to race 1 being delayed, the race then commenced at 3:41 pm.
Renegade Ruslie was quick to begin.
Reality Jewel and Cailah's Crew were slow to begin.
Mr Damian Meade was reminded of responsibilities under GAR 156(f) (negligence) for failing to catch East On Henry at the conclusion of the race.
Ms Terri-Maree Morris was reminded of responsibilities under GAR 156(f) (negligence) for failing to catch Belair Bale at the conclusion of the race.
Belair Bale marred Behind Greywalls on the home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left tarsal sprain and a right hamstring injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Tammy Kennedy-Harris, the representative of Belair Bale regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Belair Bale was charged with marring. Ms Kennedy-Harris pleaded guilty to the charge, Belair Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must performa Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Renegade Ruslie visibly eased in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 5 and was found to have a left hamstring injury; a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Russell Edwards,regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Renegade Ruslie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Edwards pleaded guilty to the charge, Renegade Ruslie was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Dark Night visibly eased in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race 7 and was found to have a left groin injury; a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Maria Barber, the representative of Dark Night regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Dark Night was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Barber pleaded guilty to the charge, Dark Night was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
