An out of competition sample was taken from Mcivor Roxy on 5 July 2022 pursuant to GAR 139.

Franky Intention was slow to begin. Kick Son was very slow to begin (4 lengths).

Franky Intention (lost ground on the first turn), and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Ms D.O'Neill regarding the racing manners of Franky Intention on the first turn. After hearing submissions from Ms O'Neill, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn.

Smiling Ultra (eased in the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Trainer Ms D.Knight declined the option to have the greyhound re–vetted.

Stewards spoke to Trainer Ms D.Knight regarding Smiling Ultra’s racing manners in the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Smiling Ultra was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Knight pled guilty to the charge, Smliing Ultra was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

In accordance with GAR 156(w) Mr L.Jones was issued with a warning regarding the non–compliance with the GRV Dress Code.

Anytime At All was slow to begin.

A post–race sample was taken from Speedy Mouse –  the winner of the event. 

An out of competition sample was taken from Mcivor Bonnie on 5 July 2022 pursuant to GAR 139.

Hector Intention was slow to begin. 

Mahogany Flame (lost ground approaching the second turn) and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

An out of competition sample was taken from Aston Bel Air on 5 July 2022 pursuant to GAR 139.

There were no reportable incidents in the event. 

Mcivor Rusty (fell in catching pen) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. 

A post–race sample was taken from Quinlan Bale –  the winner of the event. 

A pre–race sample was taken from Tiggerlong Nibel.

Tiggerlong Nibel was slow to begin. 

Our Magic Miss (fell approaching the first turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed

An out of competition sample was taken from Shima Punga on 5 July 2022 pursuant to GAR 139.

There were no reportable incidents in the event. 

A post–race sample was taken from Madam Maximus –  the winner of the event. 

Sierra Foxtrot was slow to begin.

Blueberry Hill (lost ground and tailed off approaching the first turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

The start was delayed by approximately one minute due to operational activities.

Suntanned was quick to begin. 

Suntanned (cramped in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 130, Suntanned was ordered to undertake a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 130, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre–race sample was taken from Who Told Mel.

Kanji Kilo and Kanji Length were to quick to begin. 

An out of competition sample was taken from Emergency on 5 July 2022 pursuant to GAR 139.

Mcivor Stretch was quick to begin.

Urana Fernando (fell in catching pen), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right metacarpal fracture. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Meeting Comments:

The Stewards were advised that the track was lightly harrowed on 3 July 2022.

Dookie Devil – In accordance with GAR 41(5), presented for a re–vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Bendigo on 1 July 2022. Dookie Devil was examined by the on–track veterinarian and found to be free from injury. Dookie Devil was Cleared to race.

A sample was taken from Dookie Devil in accordance with GAR 136, having been presented for the purpose of revoking a stand down period (re–vet).

Stewards have opened an inquiry into an alleged incident in the empty out area with Trainer, Mr Leonard Jones, the inquiry was adjourned to a later date.

Supplementary Report:

An inquiry was finalised today into the conduct of licensed person Mr Leonard Jones in the vicinity of the empty out area during the race-meeting. After considering all the evidence, the Stewards issued a charge against Mr Jones under GAR 165 (a). The particulars being that at the Mr. Jones, being a registered person with GRV, has conducted himself in a manner which was detrimental and prejudicial to the interests and image of greyhound racing. Mr Jones pleaded guilty to the charge and was found guilty. After considering submissions from Mr Jones, Stewards issued a fine of $250, which was wholly suspended for 24 months, pending no further conduct related issues in that time. In determining penalty, Stewards took into consideration: Mr Jones's submissions regarding his personal circumstances, the circumstances of the offence, Mr Jones's guilty plea, specific and general deterrence, the significance of the image of greyhound racing to GRV and the denunciation and precedents of a similar nature.
