Steward's Report
Prince Of Melton – Late scratching at 7.30am when Trainer Mr M. Giddings reported the greyhound to have an infection (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Who Told Sarah and Xanthi Bale were quick to begin. Neptune Town was slow to begin.
Hey Tootle underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hind leg, no stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mrs. E. Steel regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Hey Tootle was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Steele pleaded guilty to the charge, Hey Tootle must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125 and GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken Who Told Sarah - the winner of the event.
