Steward's Report
Hasten Hilda and Farfel were slow to begin.
Little Chills lost ground in the home straight and underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Farfel lost ground approaching the winning post and underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left calf muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Miss Emma Bowles regarding the racing manners of Farfel approaching the winning post. After hearing evidence from Miss Bowles, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
Hasten Hilda turned it's head outwards towards Romeo Lockdown approaching the winning post and underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Mr Shane Wetzels declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke Mr Wetzels, the trainer of Hasten Hilda regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Hasten Hilda was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Wetzels pleaded guilty to the charge, Hasten Hilda was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
