Steward's Report
All persons attending today wore facemasks when required, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
Ava Sarah - Pre-race sample was taken.
Jessica Pearson - Quick to begin.
Johari - Slow to begin.
Riley Ray - Slow to begin. Visibly eased at the 150m mark. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer, Mr Justin Bowman declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr Bowman regarding the greyhound’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Riley Ray was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Bowman pleaded guilty to the charge, Riley Ray was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Ava Sarah - Shifted out approaching the winning post. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mrs Beverley Proctor regarding the greyhound's racing manners. After hearing evidence from Mrs Proctor, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
