Steward's Report
Lightning Storm was slow to begin. Fuzzy Buzzy and Lunar Tom collided soon after the start. Newfire Rosie, Star Doll and Just Ducal collided approaching the first turn. Lunar Tom failed to pursue the lure entering the front straight and collided with Echelonic Action. Echelonic Action checked off Lunar Tom on the second turn. Lunar Tom and Lightning Storm collided on the second turn. Star Doll checked off Newfire Rosie on the fourth turn checking Just Ducal and Lunar Tom causing Lunar Tom to race wide. Lunar Tom and Lightning Storm collided approaching the home turn.
Lunar Tom was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Mr J. Borg, Trainer of the greyhound, Lunar Tom. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Lunar Tom with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Sandown Park and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
