Warehouse Mouse was slow to begin. Lonesome Jett and Madam Truffle collided soon after the stsart. Layton Boss and Lonesome Jett collided approching the first turn. Layton Boss galloped on the heels of Lonesome Jett on the first turn checking Layton Boss. Madam Truffle veered out and marred Dodge The Bill in the home straight. Madam Truffle and Dodge The Bill collided approaching the winning post.
Lonesome Jett was vetted and re-vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.

Stewards spoke to MS T Turnbull the trainer of the greyhound Madam Truffle. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Madam Truffle with marring and suspended the greyhound for 12 months (all tracks) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted.
