A pre race sample was taken from Wayward Wind.
Wayward Wind and Spades And Roses were slow to begin. Sakuran, Wayward Wind, True Wishes, Beamus and Sonny's Salute collided on the first turn severely checking Wayward Wind which stumbled as a result and lost considerable ground. True Wishes, Spades And Roses, Beamus and Flue Flute collided on the first turn severely checking True Wishes. Blue Flute checked off Sakuran approaching the home turn. Blue Flute galloped on Sakuran approaching the home turn severely checking Sakuran. Wayward Wind checked off Sakuran on the home turn.
Due to a technical difficulty with the judging equipment, no first split or photo finish was captured for this event. Judges using their own observations with the assistance of back up vision were able to determine and confirm placings before all clear was given.
