Premier Ruby was a late scratching at 1:31pm due to non arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer A. Marum was fined the sum of $100.

Macalister Mary and Decanus were slow to begin. Zuri's Magic checked off Matty Keeping on the first turn. Countess Juanita and Daddy Nose Best collided on the first turn checking both geryhounds. daddy Nose Best checked off macalister Mary on the third turn. Dyna Phoebe and Decanus collided several times from the home turn to entering the home straight checking Dyna Phoebe as a result.

Dr. Kiaralee, Impact Bale and Kakihara collided on the first turn. Power Volt and You Can Knocker collided on the first turn. Dr. Kiaralee checked off Kakihara in the home straight.

Acola Magic which began to lose ground from the third turn was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a small scrape over the right foot; no stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Noy, trainer of Acola Magic regarding the greyhounds performance in this event. Stewards noted that Acola Magic has recently been racing over shorter distances. Mr. Noy stated that the greyhound had been trialling well at The Meadows and felt that in his opinion Acola Magic would be competitive over the 595 metre distance. Mr. Noy added that he will undertake further work with the greyhound before nominating over similar distances in future. Stewards noted Mr. Noys' explanation.

Kalimna Storm was slow to begin. Dr. Rahoual and Kilath Magic collided soon after the start. Dr. Rahoual galloped on Silvi Norris on the first turn. Dr. Rahoual and Secret Colour collided on the first turn; Secret Colour raced wide as a result. Dalmuir Prince, Storm Allen and Silvi Norris collided approaching the second turn.

Kalimna Storm was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards deemed the performance of Kalimna Storm unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Kalimna Storm must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
