All persons attending today wore facemasks when required, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
Tyson's Typhoon, Concrete Comedy and Identity Crisis were quick to begin.
Identity Crisis checked off Concrete Comedy approaching the first turn; causing Identity Crisis and Kaylee Onyx to collide, checking Identity Crisis. Identity Crisis and Spanish Maine collided approaching the home turn. Identity Crisis stumbled approaching the home turn and on the home turn.
Identity Crisis underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race four. Identity Crisis was found to have left foreleg wrist and monkey muscle injuries. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Colleen Downie, the trainer of Identity Crisis regarding its performance approaching and on the home turn. After hearing evidence from Ms Downie, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71 Identity Crisis must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
