Steward's Report
Knuckles – Late scratching at 2:51pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr G. Bartlett was fined $100.
A pre-race sample was taken from Why Not Dan.
Esther Bale was quick to begin.
Why Not Dan and Speedy Lemon collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Aston Guilder turned its head inwards and marred Why Not Dan in the home straight.
Aston Guilder underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Simon Mallia, the trainer regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Aston Guilder was charged with marring. Mr. Mallia pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Guilder was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
