Steward's Report
Red Raven and King Cartel collided soon after the start. King Cartel and Aston Garner collided on the first turn checking King Cartel. Tempting Fate checked off On The Mend approaching the home turn. On The Mend and Rocco collided on the home turn. King Cartel eased approaching the winning post.
King Cartel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 12. It was reported that no apparent injury was found.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Laura Barnes, the trainer of King Cartel regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) King Cartel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Barnes pleaded guilty to the charge, King Cartel was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
