Golden Years – In accordance with GAR 73, the greyhound was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Warragul on 23/12/21.  Golden Years was examined by the on-track veterinarian and found to be free from injury and was Cleared to race.

Gamblin' Ways and Victory Fire collided on the second turn checking Victory Fire and Kisber. Zippy Audi and Alfie Moon collided on the home turn. Victory Fire and Kisber collided approaching the winning post.

Crymelon Comet was slow to begin.

Capra and Grey Not Blue collided on the first turn. Impending crossed to the rail on the first turn severely checking Malicious Yaala. Crymelon Comet and Nunniong Bear collided on the second turn. Crymelon Comet checked off Grey Not Blue entering the back straight checking Moraine Hayley and Nunniong Bear severely checking Crymelon Comet causing Moraine Hayley to race wide.

Coterie, Hugo and Jepara collided soon after the start checking Egyptian Tiger. Invictus Jaxson and Ollie collided approaching the first turn. Ollie crossed to the rail on the first turn and collided with Coterie and Egyptian Tiger checking all three greyhounds. Coterie and Pirates Patch collided entering home straight checking Pirates Patch.

Chic was quick to begin. Panama Dance and Flying Hercules were slow to begin.

Aston Future checked off Spitfire Striker soon after the start. Panama Dance, Weblec Gem and Just Augusta collided on the first turn checking Flying Hercules. Aston Future and Orca collided on the second turn. Spitfire Striker and Chic collided on the home turn checking Spitfire Striker and Orca.

Shivers – Late scratching at 10:23am when Trainer Matthew Marshall reported the greyhound to have abrasions (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ring A Ranger, Ripplebrook Glen and My Bro Joe collided soon after the start checking Ripplebrook Glen. Roxy Smirnoff crossed in approaching the first turn checking Ripplebrook Glen, Destructive Riot and Zipping Tiffany. Ring A Ranger, My Bro Joe and Roxy Smirnoff collided on the first turn checking My Bro Joe, Zipping Tiffany and Roxy Smirnoff. Zipping Tiffany and Roxy Smirnoff collided several times from entering the home straight to approaching the winning post.

Nicky Mustang was slow to begin.

Elusive Fly turned in the boxes and was very slow to begin.

Bourne Burner and Silver Compass collided approaching the first turn. Nicky Mustang and Bourne Burner collided on the first turn. Mussa Jack checked off Silver Compass entering the back straight.

Elusive Fly underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke with Trainer Craig Treherne regarding the greyhounds boxing manners. Mr Treherne was advised the greyhound would need to undergoe a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 52(1), pursuant to GAR 72, prior to any future races.

All greyhounds collided on the first checking Roxy Quaker, Forever A Dream, Teardrop, Aston Matrice, You Ember, Aston Edwin and Roxy Tequila. Teardrop and Roxy Tequila collided entering the back straight.

Meeting Comments: Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into an alleged incident between participants in the main grandstand of the Sandown Park Greyhound Racing Club.
