Steward's Report
Mr Darren Ryan was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, Mr. Dazzling pursuant to GAR 33.
Blazin' Cool and Cracker collided soon after the start. Peccavi and Mr. Dazzling collided soon after the start. Soul Taker, Blazin' Cool and Cracker collided approaching the 250m mark checking Soul Taker. Blazin' Cool crossed out at the 200m mark.
Stewards spoke to representative Mr Garry Johnson pursuant to GAR 27(1), after the greyhound Cracker slipped its collar momentarily as they were leaving the parade area prior to the running of this race. The greyhound was vetted and passed fit to race. After hearing submissions from Mr Johnson, Stewards reminded him of his responsibilities to make sure the greyhound is secure at all times in accordance with GAR 27(1).
A pre-race sample was taken from She's Exquisite. Stewards spoke to Mr. B Smith (representing Trainer - Ms D Furey) following the event regarding the notable betting fluctuations on She's Exquisite. Mr. Smith told Stewards that the greyhound had been trialling well at Healesville in a recent time of 17.78. Mr. Smith also stated that he expected the greyhound to perform well and did not support the greyhound today. Mr. Smith requested the greyhound be vetted due to an incident in the catching pen. She's Exquisite was found to have a left calf injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Cracker underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request following an incident in the catching pen and was found to have a left medial tibial periostitis injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
