Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Great Question.
Mustang Charlie, My Golden Eagle and All Inn Chester collided soon after the start checking My Golden Eagle. Run Machine and Aston Pride collided on the first turn checking Aston Pride. Mustang Charlie and All inn Chester collided on the first turn checking All Inn Chester. Aston Pride and Great Question collided on the home turn. Great Question turned its head inwards and collided with Run Machine approaching the winning post checking both greyhounds.
Great Question underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury and a right quadriceps injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Ms Mim Gilders regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Great Question was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Gilders pleaded not guilty to the charge, Great Question was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
