Deal Striker - Shifted out approaching the 150m, visibly eased several times and collided with Hurricane Daisy. Deal Striker underwent a post-race veterinary examination following the event and was found to show sign's of thumps and slow recovery, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr Lindsay Fulford regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Deal Striker was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge. Deal Striker was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Strong Arm Bob - Slow to begin.

Mt. View Burner - Slow to begin.

Stewards noted the vacant box coverings were inadvertenly left on the front of box numbers 2 and 3 from the previous event. Stewards reminded the Starter of his responsibilities.

Magnificence - Checked of Silver Gem approaching the home turn, collided with Goolagong and was severely checked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed shin soreness to the right foreleft and to the left and right hindleg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Starlight Nelly - Went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.

It's Garrie Time - post-race sample taken (winner).

Tessa Sand - pre-race sample unable to be obtained, post-race sample subsequently taken (placed 3rd).

Aqua Blaze - slow to begin.

Earn The Fizz - quick to begin.

Chief Gem - slow to begin. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after the greyhound faltered on the first turn and was found to have injuries to the sacro-iliac, and both front and rear shins. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Write About Her - Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after the greyhound raced wide entering the home straight and lost ground . Write About Her was found to have injuries to the right monkey muscle, both chest muscles and both pencil muscles. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Jasper Bale - The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing with Luke Harris and noted his comments. A post-race veterinary examination revealed injuries to the right triangle and right medial tibia. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Elswyk Suzie - pre-race sample taken.

Ruby Runner - slow to begin. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after receiving a check on the first turn and losing ground. Ruby Runner was found to have injuries to both chest muscles, right quadriceps and right pencil muscles. A 10 day stand down was imposed.

This event was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to operational matters.

Grumpy Al - Underwent a post-race veterinary examination after contacting the running rail approaching the first turn and was found to have injuries to the right triangle muscle and left medial tibia. A 7 day stand down was imposed.

Ebony Tara - The Stewards spoke to Mr John Lindrea in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal from this event, and noted his comments.

Meeting Comments – In accordance with GAR 73, Grumpy Ellie was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at launceston on 28 March 2022. Grumpy Ellie was examined by the on-track veterinarian and found to be free from injury. Grumpy Ellie was Cleared to race. A sample was taken for analysis.

Block Buster – Failed to Chase - Field of 4, Distance 350m, Weight 34.5kg, Box 5, Placed 3rd, Time Run 19.98 - Comment: Cleared All Tracks except, Sale.

Rufiano – Marring - Field of 4, Distance 350m, Weight 33.2kg, Box 8, Placed 1st, Time Run 19.44 - Comment: Cleared All Tracks except, Sandown, Sale and The Meadows. Post-trial urine and blood samples taken.
