Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Camulos.
Fabroni Bale was slow to begin and raced wide throughout the event.
Golden Skyrocket and Sir Champ collided on the second turn checking Golden Skyrocket. Sir Champ visibly eased and turned its head inwards in the home straight.
Sir Champ underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the right fore and hind legs. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr David Crawford, the kennel representative regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Sir Champ was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Crawford pleaded guilty to the charge, Sir Champ was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72 , before any future nomination will be accepted.
