Average Axel, Ocean Legend and Blair’s Rex were slow to begin. Behind Greywalls crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Stengle. Stengle and Good Chat Sam collided soon after the start. Stengle, Confer and Good Chat Sam collided approaching the first turn, Behind Greywalls fell as a result. Confer and Ocean Legend collided on the home turn. Confer and Good Chat Sam collided in the home straight.
Behind Greywalls underwent a post race veterinary examination and it was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Confer underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have shin soreness on the right foreleg and left hind leg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Garry Selkrig regarding the racing manners of Confer in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Selkrig, viewing all available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
