Inga Meg was quick to begin. Baffling, Empress Blaze and Winter's Coming were slow to begin. Winter's Coming checked off Empress Blaze on the first turn causing Winter's Coming to brush the running rail. Baffling checked off Winter's Coming on the first turn causing Baffling to contact the running rail. Empress Blaze contacted the running rail on the first turn. Orca brushed the rail on the first turn. Orca and Inga Meg collided entering the home straight. 

Baffling underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a tail laceration. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms Maria Barber regarding the racing manners of Go Sister Go. After hearing evidence from Ms Barber, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start.

Jesse Riccarton underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left hind shin soreness. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Anthony Helleren regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Jesse Riccarton was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Helleren pleaded guilty to the charge, Jesse Riccarton was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Zambora Tara was slow to begin. Hurricane Miss and Run Fast Onesie collided several times from soon after the start to the first turn. Run Fast Onesie and It's All Luck collided approaching the first turn severely checking It's All Luck. Zambora Tara and Tiger's Roar colided on the first turn checking Tiger's Roar. Tiger's Roar contacted the running rail on the first turn. Jordy's Express raced wide in the home straight. 

It's All Luck underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
