Steward's Report
Kisber was slow to begin. Fat Cracker, He Can Talk and Kiwi Billy collided approaching the first turn checking He Can Talk. Diamond And Rust and Double On Ice collided on the first turn. Diamond And Rust galloped on Flywheel Cracker on the first turn checking Flywheel Cracker and Double On Ice. Kiwi BIlly was checked off Double On Ice on the first turn. Diamond And Rust turned its head out and collided with Flywheel Cracker on the home turn and again in the home straight. Double On Ice crossed in approaching the winning post checking Flywheel Cracker and Diamond And Rust.
Diamond And Rust underwent a post race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer, Ms Susan Northway regarding tne greyhound‘s racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Diamond And Rust was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Northway pleaded guilty to the charge, Diamond And Rust was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Fat Cracker - unplaced in the event.
