All staff and participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of boxing, starting, and catching greyhounds.

Fleetwood Sam was slow to begin.

Pete and Audenzia collided on the first turn. Valak and Pineapple Turtle collided on the third turn. Sir Chappy faltered, shifted to the outside and collided several times with Empress Blaze in the back straight, checking Empress Blaze. Pete visibly eased and turned its head outward on the third turn checking Sir Chappy. Pete and Fleetwood Sam collided in the home straight.

Pete underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3. Pete was found to have a left hamstring injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Ms M Barber regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Pete was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Barber pleaded guilty to the charge, Pete was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Sir Chappy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
