Steward's Report

All staff & participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of boxing, starting and catching greyhounds. 

Club staff advised that the track received a medium harrow on Sunday 4 July 2021.

Call Me Buddy, Urban Legend and Head Bouncer were slow to begin. Quiz Pop checked off Mad Bailey on the first turn checking Call Me Buddy, Urban Legend and Head Bouncer and severely checking Quiz Pop causing it to fall. Mad Bailey visibly eased and turned it's head outwards entering the back straight severely checking Inky's Fireball. Mad Bailey visibly eased and turned it;s head outwards approaching the second turn checking Inky's Fireball. Head Bouncer galloped on the heels of Urban Legend on the home turn checking Call Me Buddy, Urban Legend and Head Bouncer. Mad Bailey marred Inky's Fireball in the home straight.

Quiz Pop underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Mad Bailey underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Nathan McKay regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the back straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Mad Bailey was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. McKay pleaded guilty to the charge, Mad Bailey was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
