All persons attending today wore facemasks when required, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

Aston Daiquiri and Hyperfine collided soon after the start checking Hyperfine.  Stylish Ken and Market Scooby collided on the first turn checking Stylish Ken.  Stylish Ken and Cheery Ola Baby collided approaching the home turn checking Stylish Ken, Aston Daiquiri and Cheery Ola Baby.  Stylish Ken, Hyperfine and Cheery Ola Baby collided on the home turn checking all three greyhounds.  Aston Daiquiri and Soleus collided entering the home straight checking Aston Daiquiri.

An out of competition sample was taken from Junior Marjen on 17 March 2022 pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre-race sample was taken from Deadly Rookie.

Twilight Sofia and Deadly Rookie collided soon after the start checking Deadly Rookie.  Junior Marjen galloped on the heels of Gotham Diva on the first turn checking Junior Marjen, Gotham Diva, Deadly Rookie, Aston Suzette and Twilight Harry. 

An out of competition sample was taken from Runaway Miss on17 March 2022 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Runaway Miss was quick to begin.

Twilight Rogue, My Boy Rockin' and Pretty Fly collided soon after the start checking Twilight Rogue and Pretty Fly.  Twilight Rogue and Pretty Fly collided approaching the first turn checking Twilight Rogue.  Sambar Chief checked off My Boy Rockin' on the first turn.  Misty Rainbow and My Boy Rockin' collided on the first turn severely checking Misty Rainbow who collided with Sambar Chief who in-turn checked Misty Rainbow.  Aston Lamont visably eased and turned it's head outwards towards Runaway Miss approaching the winning post.

Misty Rainbow underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Aston Lamont underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.  Stewards spoke to Mr. Anthony Azzopardi, the trainer regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Aston Lamont was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Azzopardi pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Lamont was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and pursuant to GAR 72 , before any future nomination will be accepted.

An out of competition sample was taken from Paua Of Buddy on 16 March 2022 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Typhoon Sammy and Paua Of Buddy collided on the first turn, approaching the home turn, on the home turn and several times in the home straight.

Paua Of Buddy underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have dislocated toe to the left hind foot.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Typhoon Sammy - winner of the event.

A sample was taken from Orson Mick upon arrival at the course.

Key Evidence and Security Man collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Smart As Jack and Snapper Smith collided approaching the first turn.  Security Man and Snapper Smith collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Orson Mick and Soda Titan collided on the first turn checking Special Talent, Orson Mick, Key Evidence and Soda Titan.

A post-race sample was taken from Boston Garden - winner of the event.

An out of competition sample was taken from Tiger Blurton on 17 March 2022 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Shane Drummond, regarding the scratching of the greyhound Flaming Pepper, due to Mr. Drummond having another runner in this event. Stewards noted Mr. Drummond's explanation and took no further action.

Nifty Nangar and Tiger Blurton collided soon after the start.  Shanlyn Hunter, Nifty Nangar and Tiger Blurton collided on the first turn.  Shanlyn Hunter and Nifty Nangar collided approaching the second turn and again in the back straight checking Shanlyn Hunter.  Flaming Rush raced wide in the home straight.

An out of competition sample was taken from Fernando Mick on 17 March 2022 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Destini Saxon and Fernando Mick collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. 

Out of competition samples were taken from Dream Wizard, Dynamic Prince, Compliance, Idolize, Mr. Audacious and Robbie Rotten on 16 March 2022 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Out of competition samples were taken from Ferdinand Boy and Substantial on 17 March 2022 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Idolize was quick to begin.

Dynamic Prince, Ferdinand Boy and Compliance collided soon after the start checking Dynamic Prince and Ferdinand Boy.  Idolize and Mr. Audacious collided on the first turn checking Dynamic Prince, Ferdinand Boy, Compliance, Idolize and Mr. Audacious.  Dream Wizard and Mr. Audacious collided approaching the home turn.  Dynamic Prince and Ferdinand Boy collided on the home turn checking Dynamic Prince.  Dream Wizard and Idolize collided in the home straight. 

It was noted that the muzzle of Mr. Audacious became dislodged during the running of the event.

Rio Hato was quick to begin.

Aston Ryker and Subtle Art collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Subtle Art and Sprinkler System collided approaching the home turn checking Sprinkle System.  Aston Ryker raced wide in the home straight.

Ironclad and Top Faith collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Jack Out, Gotham Duke and Mayhem Thrill collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Gotham Duke, severely checking Jack Out and Mayhem Thrill.  Jay For Jack, Ironclad and Top Faith collided approaching the home turn checking Jay For Jack.  Jack Out and Mayhem Thrill collided approaching the home turn checking Jack Out.  Ironclad and Top Faith collided on the home turn.

Gypsy Play was quick to begin.

Gleaming, Nella Ruslie and Call Me Harvey collided soon after the start checking Nella Ruslie and Call Me Harvey.  Gleaming and Short Deuce collided approaching the first turn checking Short Deuce.  All Inn Toffee and Short Deuce collided on the first turn.  Gleaming galloped on the heels of Call Me Harvey approaching the home turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Nella Ruslie and Short Deuce collided approaching the home turn.  All Inn Toffee and Gleaming collided in the home straight.  

All Inn Christy was slow to begin.

Sagacious and All Inn Jasper collided entering the home straight.
