Steward's Report
All persons attending today wore facemasks when required, checked in, observed social distance requirements, and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
Affair Fantasy was quick to begin. Cool Whip was slow to begin.
Gem Victorem, Brightly Staring and Dinkydi Junior collided approaching the first turn checking Gem Victorem. Deltora Quest checked off Dinkydi Junior on the first turn. Argyle Lilly and Affair Fantasy collided on the first turn. Dinkydi Junior and Brightly Staring collided approaching the home turn. Argyle Lilly raced wide on the home turn. Cool Whip checked off Salut Sideways entering the home straight.
Salut Sideways underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured tail. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Argyle Lilly - the winner of the event.
Supplementary Report - 19 March 2022 - Pursuant to GAR 75, Trainer Jason Caley advised Stewards that Salut Sideways undertook an off-course veterniary examination which reported a sprain to the tail base. The technical term is 'acute caudal myopathy'.
