Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Aston Jazz on 7/3/2022 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Dinkydi Junior and Aston Jazz collided soon after the start. Bushman's Prayer, Dinkydi Junior and Aston Jazz collided at the 300m mark. Ranger Mick turned its head to the outside and visibly eased approaching the 250m mark. Pot The Black checked off Ranger Mick at the 250m mark.
Ranger Mick underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8. Ranger Mick was found to have a quadricep injury to both sides. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mrs Maureen Turner regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 250m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Ranger Mick was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Turner pleaded guilty to the charge, Ranger Mick was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Bushman's Prayer - the winner of the event.
