Charlotte's Hand and Panyam Bale collided soon after the start. Zipping Crusader, Mepunga Web, Curator, Tomida, Charlotte's Hand and Panyam Bale collided soon after the start checking Curator, Tomida and Charlotte's Hand. Zipping Crusader, Panyam Bale and Original Chicken collided approaching the first turn checking Panyam Bale. Mepunga Web, Tomida, Charlotte's Hand and Panyam Bale collided on the first turn checking Tomida, Charlotte's Hand and Panyam Bale. Mepunga Web, Tomida and Original Chicken collided on the second turn checking Tomida and Original Chicken. Tomida and Panyam Bale collided on the third turn. Original Chicken marred Tomida in the home straight.
Original Chicken underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wound to the right fore paw and the left hind toe. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Ms D. Coleman regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Original Chicken was charged with marring. Ms Coleman pleaded guilty to the charge, Original Chicken was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
