Aston Simpkin, Gar Gar, Crown Debra and Cuddle Me Costa collided soon after the start checking Gar Gar and Crown Debra, both greyhounds lost ground.  Aston Simpkin checked off Cuddle Me Costa approaching the first turn.  Hamish.Bale checked off Aston Simpkin on the first turn.  Hamish Bale checked off Ramadi Bale approaching the home turn. Crown Debra turned its head outwards approaching the winning post.

Crown Debra underwent a post race veterinary examination and was revetted following race six, no apparent injury could be detected.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Jack Strutt the representative for Crown Debra regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A (1), Crown Debra was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Strutt pleaded guilty to the charge, Crown Debra was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

The start of this event was delayed by 1 minute due to a South Australian Harness race.

Sazan Bale was slow to begin.  Fighting Boxer, Jasper Bale and Winlock Crewe collided soon after the start.  Fighting Boxer and Sazan Bale collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Fighting Boxer and Cambria Bale.  Jasper Bale and Winlock Crewe collided approaching the home turn.  Jasper Bale checked off Ambrose Bale on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Zaida Bale and Major Lightning were quick to begin.  Gypsy Seymour, Shima Magic, Ysabel Bale and Winlock Megget collided soon after the start checking Ysabel Bale and Winlock Megget. Winlock Megget and Taylen Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Taylen Bale.  Gypsy Seymour and Shima Magic collided approaching the first turn.  Shima Magic and Major Lightning collided on the first turn.  Gypsy Seymour, Ysabel Bale, Rosalind Bale and Winlock Megget collided on the first turn.  Major Lightning checked off Zaida Bale entering the home straight.  Major Lightning and Zaida Bale collided in the home straight.

Taylen Bale underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a punctured vessel in the right wrist.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Major Lightning underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have minor abrasions on both hind feet.  No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Brian Hodgson reagarding the racing manners of Major Lightning in the home straight.  After hearing evidence from Mr. Hodgson, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.

Frothy's Bradman – Late scratching at 12:39pm when trainer Jack Campbell  reported the greyhound to have an illness. (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A sample was taken from Major Bomber upon arrival at the course.

Storm Stroller and Major Bomber were quick to begin.  Let Love Rule was slow to begin. Sister Roberta and He’s For Us collided approaching the first turn.  Mr. Holyfield, Let Love Rule and Major Bomber collided on the first turn.  Mr. Holyfield and Let Love Rule collided approaching the home turn.  Sister Roberta was checked off Let Love Rule on the home turn.  Let Love Rule visibly eased entering the home straight, turned its head outwards and collided with Mr. Holyfield.  Barooga Gal and Major Bomber collided in the home straight.  Let Love Rule visibly eased and turned its head outwards approaching the winning post.

Let Love Rule underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right quadriceps.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Andrew Paraskevas regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight and approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Let Love Rule was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Paraskevas pleaded guilty to the charge, Let Love Rule was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cindy Fuso and Hazelnut were quick to begin.  Aston Suzette, Adler Bale and Barnsy collided approaching the first turn checking Adler Bale. Ximena Bale, Cindy Fuso, Hazelnut, Aston Suzette and Barnsy collided on the first turn checking Hazelnut, Barnsy, Aston Suzette and Adler Bale, severely checking Cindy Fuso.  Adler Bale checked off Hazelnut approaching the home turn.  Adler Bale and Hazelnut collided several times in the home straight.

Ranako Bale, Defiance, Starlight Amy and Uncle’s Girl were quick to begin.  Soda Saville and Mepunga Legend collided soon after the start.  Kenji Bale and Starlight Amy collided approaching the first turn.  Starlight Amy, Defiance and Soda Saville collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds.  Ranako Bale and Uncle’s Girl collided approaching the home turn.  Starlight Amy and Defiance collided  approaching the home turn checking Defiance which lost ground.  Mepunga Legend and Uncle’s Girl collided entering the home straight

Gladki was quick to begin.  Chilly Bin was slow to begin.  Aston Merit checked off Gladki on the first turn.  Drakensberg Dot and Hear The Drum collided in the home straight.

Riverdale Goldie, Suvla Bay, Blow Me Kisses and Werina Express collided soon after the start checking Werina Express.  Aussie Built and Lawful Man collided approaching the first turn checking Lawful Man.  Riverdale Goldie and Suvla Bay collided approaching the first turn.  Werina Express, Aussie Built and Lawful Man collided on the first turn checking Lawful Man which faltered and lost ground.  Blow Me Kisses and Quintana Bale collided approaching the home turn.  Werina Express, Blow Me Kisses and Suvla Bay collided in the home straight checking Suvla Bay.

Lawful Man underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left wrist and left flexor tendon.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Rogan Bale – Late scratching at  10:26am when trainer Luke Harris reported the greyhound to have sustained a right hind leg injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Purnia Bale and Ravenna Bale were quick to begin.  Big Blazer was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Alert checked off Into The Shed approaching the home turn.  Big Blazer and Alert collided entering the home straight.

Majestic Way was quick to begin.  Elarbee Mercury, Halwes and Crackerjack Ads were slow to begin. Halwes and Crackerjack Ads collided approaching the first turn.  Elarbee Mercury and Crackerjack Ads collided on the first turn checking Halwes.  Elarbee Mercury and Crackerjack Ads collided entering the home straight.

In accordance with LR 22 Mr. Troy Hampson was issued with a warning regarding his non-compliance with the GRV Dress Code.

Loretta Bale was quick to begin.  Magic Panther was slow to begin.  Misty Rainbow, Fish Tog Giblet and Go Wheels collided soon after the start.  Fish Tog Giblet, Go Wheels and Love Heart collided approaching the first turn.  Mr. Blue and Fish Tog Giblet collided on the first turn.  Fish Tog Giblet was checked off Love Heart approaching the home turn causing Fish Tog Giblet and Go Wheels to collide checking Fish Tog Giblet and Mr Blue.  Misty Rainbow was checked off Loretta Bale on the home turn.
