Steward's Report
All persons attending today, checked-in and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.
Flying Mercedes and Lucky Tarra collided soon after the start; checking both greyhounds. Mischief Lass and Blazing Beth collided approaching the first turn; checking Mischief Lass; severely checking Blazing Beth. Afro Puff, Champ Cheese and Mountain Stew collided on the first turn; checking Champ Cheese; severely checking Afro Puff. Lucky Tarr clipped the heels of Champ Cheese approaching the home turn. Mischief Lass turned its head inwards and visably eased in the home straight; severely checking Mischief Lass and Champ Cheese.
Mischief Lass underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Mr Jason Whybrow declined the option to have the greyhound re–vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Whybrow, the representative of Mischief Lass regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Mischief Lass was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Whybrow pleaded guilty to the charge, Mischief Lass was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
