Prior to the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing 1, as a result the running of this event was delayed by approximately 1 minute.

Verdun Bale and Ximena Bale collided soon after the start. Kick It Home checked off Story Unfolds on the first turn colliding with Go Gigi Go. Ximena Bale and Verdun Bale collided approaching the winning post.

Cindy Fuso and Zippy Yamaha were quick to begin.

Indy Korie and Major Currency collided soon after the start. Forrest Elbow and Zippy Yamaha collided on the first turn. Indy Korie, Major Currency and Cindy Fuso collided approaching the home turn checking Indy Korie.

On The Bit and Indy Fido were slow to begin.

On The Bit and Langfield Bale collided approaching the first turn. Indy Ghost checked off Indy Honey approaching the first turn. Blue Tiger and Indy Honey collided on the first turn severely checking Indy Honey. Indy Ghost and Indy Fido collided on the first turn. Indy Ghost and Indy Fido collided approaching the home turn checking Indy Ghost.

Racing was suspended at 8.53pm due to safety concerns with lightning strikes within the safety zone around the venue. Due to ongoing nature of the extreme weather, and the provisions of the Lightning and Thunderstorm procedure that ensures the safety of participants and greyhounds alike, the race meeting was abandoned at 9.25pm. The weights recorded for the greyhounds in races 7-12 are void and do not count for the purposes of the weight rule at the greyhounds’ next start. The prizemoney in Races 7-12 will be split evenly between the greyhounds who were to compete in these abandoned races, at the time of abandonment.
