Steward's Report
Stellar Rising was slow to begin.
Chuck Rocks and Queen Redeem collided in the back straight. Chuck Rocks and Queen Redeem collided on the third turn checking Chuck Rocks. Chuck Rocks turned its head outwards and visibly eased entering the home straight, checking Queen Redeem as a result. Gosh and Tiger Blurton raced wide on the home turn.
Chuck Rocks underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abraded right hind paw. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Aaron Debattista, Trainer regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Chuck Rocks was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Debattista pleaded guilty to the charge, Chuck Rocks was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Man Of Substance - the winner of the event.
Supplemantary Report: On 4 Janaury 2022 and in accordance with GAR 75, Trainer Grant Walker advised that Gosh had a lacerated pad on the right foot that may/will require several weeks to heel.
