All persons attending today undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, checked in, observed social distance requirements and provided satisfactory evidence of double vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination directions (as of 26 November 2021) that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.1 degrees, and the kennel temperature was 18.8 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

Track curator Mr C. Hiscock advised the track was deeply harrowed on Sunday 23 January 2022.

On The Off was slow to begin.

Dusty Bourbski checked off Winlock Crewe in the front straight.  Winlock Crewe checked off Sister Roberta colliding with McKeon Bale approaching the first turn.  Dusty Bourbski galloped on McKeon Bale on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Sister Roberta and Dirt Farmer collided approaching the home turn.  

Jimmy Monkey and Blow My Mind collided soon after the start.  Court Jester checked off Blow My Mind approaching the first turn.  Ysabel Bale and City Nights collided several times on the first turn.  Jimmy Monkey and Our Tie Breaker collided approaching the second turn.  City Nights and Ryebuck Tears collided approaching the third turn.   Jimmy Monkey and Our Tie Breaker collided approaching the third turn checking Court Jester.  Jimmy Monkey and Court Jester collided entering the home straight.  

Belle Violin checked off Shima Magic checking Worry Less soon after the start.  Sarah Beauty, Summer Lovin', Left Right Now and Shima Magic collided in the front straight.  Ariarne Bale checked off Sarah Beauty approaching the first turn.  Left Right Now and Worry Less collided on the first turn causing Worry Less to fall checking Belle Violin.  Belle Violin and Summer Lovin' collided on the second turn. 

Worry Less underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

The start of this event was delayed approximately 2 minutes due to an issue with the semaphore board computer.

Sunstruck was slow to begin.

Cabernet Girl checked off Jerry Buzzard on the first turn.  

A pre-race sample was taken from Premier Slice.

Destructive Riot and Son Of Indy collided soon after the start.  Brady's Shout and Son Of Indy collided on the second turn.  Brady's Shout marred Destructive Riot entering the home straight.  Son Of Indy and Berkel Boy collided entering the home straight.  Brady's Shout visibly eased approaching the winning post.  

Brady's Shout underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.  Stewards spoke to representative Mr Peter Bartlett regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Brady's Shout was charged with marring.  Mr. Bartlett pleaded guilty to the charge, Brady's Shout is suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Destructive Riot - winner of the event.  

A pre-race sample was taken from Halberd Bale.

Halberd Bale, Zipping James and Our Fabio collided soon after the start.  Zipping James, Our Fabio and Rio Baskin collided on the first turn. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Digitorum.

Aston Adonis checked off Nangar Troy approaching the first turn checking Konta.  Nangar Troy checked off Dark Compass on the first turn.  Digitorum and Nangar Troy collided approaching the home turn.  

Tiger Blurton checked off Irwin Bale on the first turn. 

Nana Judy was quick to begin.

Ishmy Ruby checked off Chillout Cookie on the first turn checking Hugs And Kisses.  Nana Judy and Chillout Cookie collided on the second turn and again in the back straight. 

Radical Rex and Super Sparkle collided on the first turn.  Super Sparkle and Rock Icon collided on the first turn.

Super Sparkle underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle and right hamstring injuries.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Zipping Thor - Changed trainer to Mr R. Camilleri on 25/1/2022 some publications displaying previous trainer.

Zipping Thor and Ching Ching were slow to begin.

Mallee Swan checked off Zipping Diesel checking Ching Ching on the first turn.  Zipping Thor checked off Fly Havoc on the second turn checking Zipping Diesel.  Zipping Diesel checked off Mallee Swan entering the back straight checking Ching Ching.  Midoriyama and Fly Havoc collided entering the home straight checking Fly Havoc.  Zipping Diesel and Mallee Swan collided approaching the winning post.  

Blazing Fury was slow to begin.
