Steward's Report
Always Diamond turned its head to the outside and crossed out soon after the start colliding with Misdemeanor and Unleaded Diesel. Always Diamond, Misdemeanor, Unleaded Diesel, Dark Pearl, Falsely Accused and Maserati Bell collided soon after the start. Unleaded Diesel and Falsely Accused collided approaching the 300m mark. Numerology and Always Diamond collided at the 300m mark. Dark Pearl and Falsely Accused collided at the 250m mark. Misdemeanor checked off Unleaded Diesel at the 200m mark. Maserati Bell crossed in at the 100m mark. Maserati Bell and Always Diamond collided at the 50m mark.
Always Diamond underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury and a torn nail to the left foreleg, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Michael Ferguson regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Always Diamond was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Ferguson pleaded guilty to the charge, Always Diamond was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
