Steward's Report
Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, provided satisfactory evidence of vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination (workers) directions, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
A pre-race sample was taken from Junior Marjen.
Ellie Bliss was slow to begin. Aston Lamont turned its head to the inside two times soon after the start. Dundee Buzz and Nomad Road collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Stylish Ken clipped the heels of Junior Marjen on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Annihilate and Junior Marjen collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Stylish Ken and Ellie Bliss collided in the home straight. Annihilate and Ellie Bliss collided approaching the winning post. Dundee Buzz and Nomad Road collided approaching the winning post.
Aston Lamont underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abraded left hind paw and an abraded right hind paw. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Keith Anderson, representative regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Aston Lamont was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Anderson pleaded not guilty to the charge, Aston Lamont was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
