Steward's Report
Lonesome Bee and Oseye Bale collided soon after the start. Kisber and Dr. Lexie collided soon after the start. Oseye Bale and Lonesome Bee collided approaching the first turn checking Lonesome Bee. Zeki, Kiwi Billy and Our Blue Spolly collided approaching the first turn checking Kiwi Billy. Kisber and Kiwi Billy collided in the back straight. Kisber and Dr. Lexie raced wide in the home straight. Big Bird Rose tired over the concluding stages of the race. Kiwi Billy checked off Our Blue Spolly approaching the winning post. Oseye Bale and Our Blue Spolly collided approaching the winning post.
Big Bird Rose underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Kennel Representative and Owner Mrs. S. Chignell regarding the performance of Big Bird Rose in this event. Mrs. Chignell advised Stewards that the greyhound was stepping up in distance for the first time and explained that she did not believe the greyhound had appropriately handled the extra distance, and had tired over the concluding stages of this event. After hearing evidence from Mrs. Chignell, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action and noted Mrs. Chignell's comments.
