Ripper Reiko was slow to begin.
Mr. Blue, Kanji Kilo and Blazing Pop collided soon after the start. Kanji Kilo, Blazing Pop, Sunday Sip, Joffa's Liberty and Tinker Crest collided on the first turn checking Sunday Sip and Ripper Reiko, severely checking Joffa's Monaro, causing Blazing Pop to fall. Sunday Sip checked off Kanji Kilo approaching the home turn. Tinker Crest raced wide on the home turn checking Mr. Blue.
Blazing Pop underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
A post-race sample was taken from Tinker Crest - the winner of the event.
