Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Soda Extreme.
Big Braveheart improved onto the heels of Arlington when rounding the turn into the back straight, was severely checked and lost ground. Big Braveheart underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 11 and was found to have a right shoulder, right calf and a right hamstring injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Geoffrey Mitchell regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the early part of the back straight and throughout the remainder of the event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Big Braveheart was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Geoffrey Mitchell pleaded guilty to the charge. Big Braveheart must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Arlington underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
