Steward's Report
Nine Nine and Crabby Yabby collided approaching the first turn checking Nine Nine. Retro Rocket and Bell Burner collided on the first turn causing Bell Burner to fall, checking Nine Nine. Basin Betty and Steamer Redeemer collided on the first turn. Basin Betty, Steamer Redeemer and Weblec Gem collided on the home turn checking Retro Rocket and Steamer Redeemer.
Bell Burner underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right sesamoid injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr J. Shaw regarding the boxing of Nine Nine in this event. After hearing evidence from Mr Shaw and the Steward at the start it was established that the greyhound Nine Nine was inadvertently placed in the incorrect starting box prior to the greyhound being repositioned into the correct starting box. After considering the evidence presented, the fact that the start was not delayed and Mr Shaw's offence record, a warning was issued for his negligence pursuant to GAR 86(o).
