Steward's Report
Busy Time – Late scratching at 2.20pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr John Burch was fined $100.00.
Following an inquiry, Trainer Mr John Burch was issued a charge pursuant to GAR86(q) in that he engaged in conduct detrimental to the image and control of greyhound racing. The particulars of the charge being that during kennelling today, Mr Burch used inappropriate language in response to the Stewards advising him of the weight variation scratching of his greyhound Busy Time. Mr Burch pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $150.00.
Destructive Riot and Rockstar Ruby were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Sir Harley, Walk Me Home and Hot Diesel collided approaching the first turn checking Walk Me Home. Hot Diesel and Shima Punga collided on the first turn. Hot Diesel checked off Shima Punga on the second turn and lost ground as a result. Hot Diesel shifted out and raced wide on the third turn severely checking Walk Me Home. Hot Diesel visibly eased approaching the home turn.
Hot Diesel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left shin soreness, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. David Plumridge regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Hot Diesel was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Plumridge pleaded guilty to the charge and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
